Jan! Was exciting to watch, I think I just want to see exciting hockey from here on out. Boston and Ottawa games stand out as duds but this was entertaining. Gotta win the draws which we've been better at this season but not today. |

At game and I looked up at scoreboard...I couldn't believe nit when I saw NYR faceoff % was .236. embarrassing. Just takes hard work and practice, but with having the young centers we do I guess it's kind of expected. On another note, Panarin doesn't make a bad pass.....ever! It's unreal. |

IDK what is going on behind the scenes, but it remains quite a mystery to me how Quinn uses Lias Andersson. He won't send him to Hartford, but won't play him more than 10 minutes a night. His usage contradicts all of the other decisions that Quinn makes as to playing time. I just don't get it... |

Faceoffs were terrible!
Can't think of a better game to take your daughter to, for the fun factor. Almost took mine to the Toronto game after Leetch was traded, but it was a weeknight and she was too young. We're talking about a Pack vs Phantoms game since we're in west NJ and don't want to pay MSG prices. |

Lias has ZERO trade value right now, so I think the best thing for him is the Pack. He's not getting quality minutes up here and he's clearly frustrated, so send him down. |

Took my kids to Pack years ago ---- GREAT experience!
Family 4 Pack special: 4 lower level seats, 4 slices of pizza and 4 sodas = $40
Kids got their faces painted by cheerleaders before game
Post -game kids got to skate on ice with players and got free cookies and hot chocolate in locker room!
We stayed overnight in local hotel. Entire trip ( gas, tolls included ) cost less than 4 tix at MSG. Highly recommend even if that offer doesn't exist anymore! |

Lias sucks
this theory that it's just the Rangers lack of deployment of him that stunting his growth is crap
he doesn't do one thing well
I hope Larry Brooks speculation of trading him for Puljujarvi has some validity. I' do it in a second. |

Lots of running around, lessons need to be learned we have seen the discipline play but not for 60 min nite in & out ,alot of unrest in the line up , when Mika comes back and settles the top 6 ,Chtyl making a big difference
Mika Panarin Strome - Chytl Krieds Buchny
Makes the 3rd line of KK Fast Howden so much better with Fast where he belongs
Lias is not going to find his game this way, go to Conn and work on being a 3 liner type
Lemeiux Mckegg Smith Haley has the bang factor along with grit & grime type play
Staal why didnt you say then when you sat the guy for 1st time in career that he had an injury that needed attention , perfect cover to actually sit him but why not save his dignity for later , instead you shove him under the bus & sit him for LIndgren ... I like Fox & Lindgren but could have handled Staal better , |

Trade speculation for Pulijarvi - what will it cost
With Players POSSIBLY not part of future core : for various reasons
Krieds -Georgiev -Fast-Strome- Lias -Howden
D SHey AdA Staal
Only possibles but what would we be getting
our new core forming ...
D Trouba Fox Hijak Lindgren not a bad 4 not necessarily top 4 either
wings Mika Panarin KK Chtyl Buchny not bad 5 of top 6 now
the rest of lineup could be great accessories or part of trade moves to upgrade
Pulijarvi is wanted to play where ? his cost could be a pick /prospect ? |

Really, Jim?
In one month we go from Lias being one of the best, most hard-working forwards in camp to he sucks?
Obviously, he has lots of work to do and some things to figure out. But he's still 21 and with what's going on with some of the other kids, we don't need him to develop into a superstar. He has more spirit than most and still plays a good cycle game. Even last night you could see how he can maintain possession along the boards. Patience my friend.
I agree they can't keep on like this with him for long. I'd like to see him get the Chytil treatment and go down and play large minutes for the Pack. But, I submit that it's too early to give up on him and throw him away for peanuts. |

well I don't think Puljujarvi would be for peanuts
in fact, if that trade happened, I could see Oilers fans being angry they traded HIM for peanuts
I think the Islanders showed with Griffin Reinhart that sometimes it's best to cut your losses on a high pick early instead of sticking with the he's still young don't give up on him yet theory
additionally, where does Lias fit once Henriksson and Barron join?
rightly or wrongly, the organization likes Howden better than Lias, it's just the way it is |

That certainly seems to be true. Which to me, means its mostly about the little things. And those are the type of things that can be learned. I get you point about turning him into someone better through trade. I am just leery that Edmonton would not want something else thrown in that we shouldn't do. Because like you said, Lias's trade value is not high right now.
And aren't Henriksson and Barron at least 2 years away?
edit: I also think that with the way Strome and Chytil are playing right now that we are a different team once Zib comes back!!
And on another point, faceoff prowess can be learned!! I remember Crosby not being very good at it over his first 2 seasons. And then reading about him putting a ton of work into that skill and he's been well above average ever since. |

I don't know man, I think Barron could join the team as soon as late this season after his college season ends like Kreider did in 2012 |

I am with Jim on this one. From what I see with the naked eye he doesn’t do anything that screams this guy warrants more playing time or anything well. Is he young and have a great attitude absolutely but there is nothing to his game that’s productive. It’s unfortunate he hasn’t panned out thus far. I was expecting much more from him. Edmonton would want more than Lias for Puljujarvi. |

Jesse Puljujärvi has confirmed that he's staying the whole year in Finland (Liiga - @OulunKarpatFi )
JP is not returning to the NHL this season even if he gets traded which is very unlikely. |

Honestly, I can. He was a consensus top-3 pick pretty much across most draft boards and he fell to #4. Ignoring the obvious hindsight now, I certainly would have wanted the Islanders to take him if they were in the same position as Edmonton. I still think that he's going to make the Oilers look pretty bad if they trade him, he was just completely mismanaged by a Chiarelli-run front office and it stunted his development.
But yeah, looking back....Tkachuk certainly should've been taken before him. No guarantee Chia wouldn't have mishandled him as well though |
